Canadian universities got their own report card today. The annual survey by the Globe and Mail changed its approach this year using a rating method rather than a rankings approach.

McMaster scored an A in Education, and A- in Student Services, and a B+ in career preparation.

“They're great results and show once again that McMaster should take a lot pride in the quality educational experience we deliver to students both inside and outside of the classroom,” says president Peter George.

The ratings are based solely on student opinions and are derived from an online survey of close to 28,000 students on a student awards Web site, studentawards.com.

“The strong results are consistent with other student surveys we do,” says Fred Hall, associate vice-president, academic. “It is particularly satisfying to have faculty recognized for effective teaching and student services for academic support and health services.”
