McMaster's quality of education, innovation, student satisfaction and research excellence earn top marks in a number of national and international university rankings, surveys and report cards just released.

The surveys include The Globe and Mail University Report Card, Maclean's magazine University Rankings and listings from Research Infosource Ltd. and Shanghai's Jiang Tao University.

The Globe and Mail survey shows McMaster is among the very best in the country when it comes to having the most satisfied students and offering high quality education and teaching.

Students surveyed place McMaster at or near the top in several key categories, including: quality of education, quality of teaching, overall student satisfaction, academic reputation, libraries, and student services.

“The Globe survey confirms that McMaster continues to be a leading choice for students seeking a high quality comprehensive post-secondary education,” says Ilene Busch-Vishniac, provost and vice-president academic. “McMaster works hard to ensure its academic and teaching excellence is complemented by an enriching campus community experience. To be ranked as among the best in the country by our students in key categories is a significant accomplishment.”

In the annual Maclean's University Rankings, McMaster continues to place in the top tier of Canada's Medical/Doctoral universities, finishing sixth overall. The University is ranked as Canada's second most innovative school and earns high marks for overall reputation, quality of education and student satisfaction.

In other recent rankings, McMaster is one of only four Canadian schools to earn a spot in the world's top 100 universities as graded by Shanghai's Jiao Tong University. McMaster also placed 6th in the Research Infosource annual ranking of Canada's university research leaders.
