The position replaces the director of planning and analysis role and now reports directly to the provost.

“Whether we're dealing with the University budget, prioritization of activities across campus, enrolment planning, or academic or research issues, it is critical that we have the data, information and most importantly, the sound analysis we need to make wise decisions,” says provost Ilene Busch-Vishniac. “The AVP will be part of the strategic planning process and we're very fortunate to have attracted such a wonderful candidate to McMaster.”

Prior to joining McMaster, Menard served as director of the Office of Research and Analysis in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. She earned a BA in psychology and legal studies from Carleton University and an MA and PhD in psychology from the University of Waterloo.

“I'm very excited to be working with this team,” says Menard. “Planning and Analysis has been an integral part of McMaster for many years. I look forward to working under the provost and supporting her initiatives and the University's goals.”
