The McMaster Marauders will travel to University Stadium in Waterloo Saturday to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks, with a share of first place in the OUA on the line. (The University of Guelph and the University of Ottawa are also undefeated, but face each other this weekend.)

The game, taking place at 2 p.m., will mark the second week of The Score's national television coverage of the OUA. The network season debuted last week, showing York's 55-33 victory over the Waterloo Warriors.

This will be the first meeting of the two teams since last year's Yates Cup, which McMaster won 41-17. The two teams did not meet in the regular season in 2003.

McMaster is coming off a 77-14 win over the University of Toronto. The game saw many players rotate in and out of the game for McMaster, as evidenced by starting quarterback Jon Behie lining up at wideout, catching four balls for 47 yards. Running back Jesse Lumsden had a light workload on the day, playing less than a full half. The Burlington, ON native still managed to rack up 204 yards rushing on 16 carries, and scored four touchdowns. Lumsden is still well on pace to shatter CIS records for both touchdowns and rushing
yards.

As a team, McMaster has rushed for 1,288 yards in three games, for an average of 429.3 yards a game. The next closest competitor in the CIS is York, with more than 244.3 yards per game.

Laurier is coming off a dramatic last-minute 38-34 win over the Western Mustangs in London last weekend. After dominating the first half, the Hawks were down by three with a little over two minutes to play. Quarterback Ryan Pyear then took over, driving the team down the field, finally hooking up with Will Northcote for a one-yard touchdown pass. Pyear ended the day with 17 completions in 24 attempts for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Nick Cameron led the Laurier rushing attack with 133 yards.

While Lumsden has been the class of the OUA running backs, Pyear has led the way for the quarterbacks. He has thrown for 835 yards (2nd in CIS), nine touchdowns (tied for 1st in CIS), three interceptions, and he has been sacked only three times. He also has one of the best completion percentages in the CIS, completing 69 per cent of his passes.
