The award was announced in the October 2007 edition of Working Well magazine.
“This award is a true acknowledgment of how far we have come in making McMaster a healthier place to work,” says McKenna. “I am thrilled by the recognition our healthy workplace programming is receiving across Canada. Most of the credit truly goes to our Healthy Workplace Group members, whose commitment and dedication have helped to make our programming a reality.”
McKenna is responsible for promoting workplace wellness as part of the Healthy Workplace Group, which she established in 2002. The Group hosts events throughout the year that encourage McMaster's employees to lead healthy lifestyles through physical activity, proper nutrition and other health promotion initiatives.
