On Saturday, May 13, visitors will have the opportunity to find out in-depth information about McMaster programs, student services, financial aid and scholarships and tour McMaster's amazing campus facilities.

Liaison officer Candy Hui says that May@Mac is an excellent chance for potential students and their families to check out what McMaster has to offer. “Spring is a wonderful time of year to visit the campus,” says Hui. “The campus looks beautiful, and students can explore the environment they would be living and studying in while at McMaster.

“Students can speak directly to the people who can help them with their questions and share insights into the kinds of facilities and programs McMaster has to offer,” says Hui.

Between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. guests can attend open house events planned by Faculties around the campus including special facility tours, lab demonstrations and visits, student performances, lectures, career information and more. Click here to find out more about what is offered.

Over 20 student services and student clubs will have displays in the MUSC Marketplace (McMaster University Student Centre). If visitors need to take a break, both LaPiazza and Williams Coffee Pub in the lobby of Student Centre will be open during the event.

There is a session designed for parents running from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery (room 1305/1307). Members of the McMaster community who are committed to student health, safety, success and guidance will address some of the common concerns parents often have about sending their children “off to university”. There will be a question and answer session after the panel presentation.

Visitors can pick up their schedule of events at the 'General Information' tent located on the patio between Mills Library and MUSC. Then take a few minutes to plan their day to take advantage of as many events as possible. For more information about May@Mac, including information about complimentary parking, self-guided campus tours, special facility tours, demonstrations, and lectures visit http://registrar.mcmaster.ca/external/tours/may13_06.htm. Registration is not necessary.

Traveling to campus is easy. McMaster's ACT Office (Alternative Commuting & Transportation) invites May@Mac visitors to try out the fabulous transit that serves the University for free on that day. Come to campus by HSR, Burlington Transit or GO Transit on Saturday, May 13 to see how convenient the bus can be.

For those traveling by car, the Student Liaison Office and Security and Parking Services are offering complimentary parking. All visitors are asked to enter the campus through the Cootes Drive entrance.

“The Student Liaison Office would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people across campus who are involved in making McMaster's annual May@Mac Open House such a successful event,” Hui says. “Whether aiding with set-up, clean-up, coordinating events, acting as a program representative, or participating in sessions on May 13, it takes the work and effort of many departments to make it all come together.”
