McMaster will play host to some of the province's best university basketball this spring
when it hosts Ontario University Athletics' (OUA) Wilson Cup.

OUA announced that this year's men's basketball championship will be played at
McMaster's Burridge Gymnasium from March 4 to 5.

This will be the first year for the conference's new final four-style format, in which the
top teams from the East and West divisions will face off to determine Ontario's
champion.

“We're very excited about the opportunity to host the Wilson Cup this year,” said Jeff
Giles, director of Athletics & Recreation at McMaster. “Hamilton has a very enthusiastic
basketball community and I think they're really going to enjoy the opportunity to see
such high-level university basketball up-close.”

The Wilson Cup weekend will also include an awards breakfast honouring the 2010-
2011 season's major award winners, all-stars and final four teams, an on-campus
basketball skills clinic for youth in grades 3 to 8 and a celebrity two-ball tournament.

“This is pretty cutting edge for the OUA,” McMaster men's basketball coach Amos
Connolly told The Hamilton Spectator. “I like the idea of being progressive, that's for
sure. It's going to be good basketball.”

Men's basketball playoffs begin Feb. 23, and the final four teams will be determined by
Feb. 26.

For the first time since 2004, the semifinals and championship game will also be
broadcast nationally on The Score.

Individual day tickets for the Wilson Cup are available for $10 for adults and $5 for
youth and students. Tournament passes are available for $20. Tickets can be purchased
by phone at 905-525-9140 ext. 20353,

University's Maroon Shop in the David Braley Athletic Centre. Adult tickets can also be
