With one game remaining on the conference schedule, the McMaster
women's volleyball team is ready to climb to heights previously unexplored, while also
getting ready for a playoff journey that could see the team land in Alberta.

Having already secured first-place in the OUA West Division and the league's best
overall record, the Marauders can set a team record for most wins in a season (17) by
winning their regular season finale tomorrow (February 13) at York.

McMaster also moved into the national top-ten for the first time this season, cracking the elite list at 10th spot in this
week's rankings.

"We've got a really good mix of experienced veterans and enthusiastic younger players," said setter Jenn Holt, who last February became the first Marauder in history to be named to the First All-Canadian team. "And we have great team chemistry. We've been having a really good year."

That may be an understatement, as the Marauders, who will also host an OUA quarter-final match on Feb. 20, have only been defeated twice this season.

A victory in the quarter-finals will bring the OUA women's volleyball final-four tournament to McMaster for the first time, with the Marauders as the top seed.

The Marauders, under coach Tim Louks, are looking to qualify for the CIS
Championships for the second time in three years, having played in the 2008 CIS Finals
in New Brunswick. The 2010 Championship will be hosted at the University of Alberta,
March 5-7, 2010.
