MacVIP update

After wide-spread consultation with department administrators, the
MacVIP Steering Committee, senior project team members and senior
management, there is consensus that it is prudent and responsible to
defer implementation of the new payroll system at this time for Rolls 1 and 3 employees for June and July. Until you are advised otherwise, the current pay schedules remain in effect.
The University's top priority in moving forward with the planned
June/July conversion to MacVIP is the accurate and timely processing
and delivery of pay. Recent discussions across the University have made it clear that our state of organizational readiness is not what it needs to be in order to proceed with the implementation as originally planned.
We would like to stress that this is a delay only in the existing plan to convert Rolls 1 and 3 in June and July, 2007. The current plan for Graduate Studies' payroll conversion to MacVIP will proceed as planned.
In addition, we are also exploring options that would involve a phased implementation through the conversion of the Roll 3 population in July, with Roll 1 following at a later date. You will be kept informed of this ongoing work.
Naturally, this decision makes the need to return the Repayable Advance Election Forms unnecessary. We apologize for any confusion or
inconvenience around the repayable advance; however our future plan for Roll 1 will require a change to the repayable advance as well.
Stay tuned for updates on this important project.
