Ever wanted to record and create your own podcast or audio tracks? Interested in experimenting with the sound-recording and editing process?

Now, students, staff and faculty from across campus can work on their own audio projects using the audio recording booth in McMaster University Library’s Lyons New Media Centre.

The facility, located on the 4thfloor of Mills Library, is an almost sound proof booth where students, staff, or faculty can do any type of audio recording for both class assignments or personal projects – from podcasts and voice overs, to singing and instrumental recordings.

The booth is equipped with audio software (Audacity and Adobe Audition) and high-end headphones and microphones for recording. As well, there are edit suites available in the Lyons New Media Centre in which students, staff and faculty can work individually or in groups to create podcasts or edit audio recordings.

The audio booth and editing suites can be booked at https://library-bookings.mcmaster.ca. Bookings should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
