The 2000 season promises to be another exciting campaign for Marauder Football. After finishing tied for second in the OUA last season with a 6-2 record, the football program will look to build on last years success with a talented class of first year student athletes. The coaching staff has recruited a class of forty talented athletes to join the team this season. Eighteen of the forty hail from the Hamilton/Burlington area. In fact, many current players were able to recruit their younger siblings to join the maroon and grey this fall. The sibling combinations to take the field for MAC this season will be Nic and Josh Armstrong, Chris and Adam Rankin, Ryan and John Donnelly, as well as Kojo and Kwamee Aidoo. The younger brothers, much like their older siblings, should make an impact on this year's lineup.

Head coach, Greg Marshall, commented, “We have another strong recruiting class this season. We have been able to recruit some good local talent and we feel that we have recruited two of the best linemen in the area in Fabio Filice and Mike Gow. We are very pleased to have the brothers of many of our current players join the team this year. Many of which will have an impact on our lineup this season. It shows that our current players have enjoyed their experience at MAC and it speaks very well of our program.”

Director of Athletics & Recreation, Therese Quigley, stated, “We welcome the recruits of the new millennium as they enter the most exciting and challenging years of their lives. These young men will be integral to the ongoing development of Marauder Football and they will benefit from the leadership of one of the best coaching staffs in Canada. We wish you success in your athletic and academic pursuits here at McMaster.”

The Marauder football season begins at the University of Waterloo on Saturday, September 9th at 2:00pm. The Marauders open at home on Saturday, September 16th at 2:00 pm versus the Windsor Lancers.
