Leading expert on market structure to address DeGroote conference

Harris”]A leading global expert on capital markets and the former chief economist of the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States will deliver the keynote address at the annual conference on Market Structure and Market Integrity. The conference is co-sponsored by the DeGroote School of Business and Market Regulation Services Inc (RS).

Lawrence E. Harris, the Fred V. Keenan Chair in Finance at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California will discuss market structure and market integrity to lead off the annual conference in Toronto on November 13 and 14.

“Dr. Harris is a leading and respected authority in market structure,” says Paul Bates, dean, DeGroote School of Business. “It is a distinct honour to welcome him as our keynote at our first annual conference.”

The conference is a result of a $500,000 sponsorship commitment from Market Regulation Services Inc. (RS). RS is the independent regulation services provider for Canadian equity markets. It monitors every trade made in the Canadian markets in real time, protecting investors and ensuring market integrity.
