More than 4,000 students will take part in this year’s Welcome Week activities, which kicked off this weekend at McMaster.

The annual program helps first-year students transition into university life and orient themselves to campus.

Highlights of the week include the IRIS theatrical production, the Mac Connector event, off-campus tours, faculty day, an air band competition, concerts in Faculty Hollow and the PJ Parade.

The Marauders began the defence of their Vanier Cup championship Monday with a 50-9 win over Guelph, and a fire safety program – MacDraft – is scheduled for Wednesday. The event will see a mock bedroom burned in front of the John Hodgins Engineering building.
