Ken Cruikshank recognized with MUFA award

The McMaster University Faculty Association has honoured Ken Cruikshank with its Award for Outstanding Service. The award is given annually to a faculty member or professional librarian who has made an outstanding contribution to the University through the provision of exceptional service to faculty, librarians, staff, students or alumni.


The McMaster University Faculty Association has honoured Ken Cruikshank with its Award for Outstanding Service.

The award is given annually to a faculty member or professional librarian who has made an outstanding contribution to the University through the provision of exceptional service to faculty, librarians, staff, students or alumni.

Cruikshank, an associate professor of history, is an expert in the history of business development and the administrative state in Canada and the United States, particularly between the 1880s and the Second World War. He has also studied the impact of the intercolonial railway on the social and economic development of the Maritimes, and the regulation of recreational and popular activities in Hamilton Harbour.

He currently serves as the interim dean of humanities.

Past winners of the Award for Outstanding Service include John Berlinsky, Bernadette Lynn, Mike Veall, Betty Ann Levy and Penny Salvatori.
