The McMaster and wider Hamilton communities are invited to join the
Women's Studies Program today as it continues its celebration of International Women's Day (IWD) and the 10th anniversary of women's studies at McMaster. Rather than the usual one day event (on March 8), this year the IWD program fills two days.

The focus today (March 9) is on the theme of “Into the 21st Century” and the day will feature a variety of workshops (on leadership, volunteering, journal writing, resume and interview techniques, cyberspace for women and social activism), a keynote address by Irshad Manji (of QT-Queer Television) and a panel which will address issues of peace, race, sexuality, entrepreneurship, leadership and disabilities, with a focus on women in the coming century.

The celebration will end with a performance of The Vagina Monologues by the Half the Sky Theatre Company.

All are welcome. Advance registration is requested as workshop spaces are limited. There is no charge for students, seniors or the unwaged.
