That's why the McMaster Alumni Association hosts international events catering to graduates living in 125 countries around the world.

“Having alumni events internationally enables our alumni to still feel connected to McMaster, enables them to meet fellow McMaster alumni in the area where they are living and keeps them informed of the important projects happening at McMaster,” said Kathleen D'Amico, alumni officer, international outreach.

The McMaster Alumni Association hosts about 15 international alumni events per year. The location is chosen based on the number of alumni who live there and the availability of volunteers to help organize the event.

One of those events will be an alumni gathering on Saturday, July 12 in Dubai. Hosted by Luke Chan, associate vice-president of the Office of International Affairs, and Mo Elbestawi, vice-president, research and international affairs, the event will feature afternoon tea at the Madinat Jumeirah – Mina A'Salam Hotel.

Alumni living in Minneapolis are invited to a cheese tasting on Thursday, July 24 at the residence of the Canadian Consul General. Participants will learn how to pair Canadian artisan cheeses with Canadian wines.

The McMaster Alumni Association has also partnered with International Student Services to develop relations with international students before they graduate.
