Innovation showcase set for Nov. 12

Mike Kirkup, director of the University of Waterloo’s VeloCity program, will give the keynote address at this year’s Innovation Showcase.

The annual event, held at the McMaster Innovation Park, is an opportunity for the University to demonstrate the exciting technologies that have been developed at McMaster, feature entrepreneurship initiatives and engage with the community.

This year’s Showcase will happen Nov. 12 in the MIP’s first floor atrium.

The Showcase will feature a roundtable discussion on stimulating entrepreneurship and encouraging engagement with the community, hosted by CBC Hamilton producer Rick Hughes.

There will also be technology presentations, an “open doors” event, a poster competition, a breakout session and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, industry representatives and researchers.

The McMaster Innovator Awards, which recognize innovators within the McMaster community for their contributions to research and commercialization success, will also be handed out during the Innovation Showcase.

The event is hosted by the McMaster Industry Liaison Office, which helps McMaster create a culture of innovation, commercialization and community engagement.
