A horse named after McMaster University has won a major American harness race.

Marion Marauder, owned in part by Social Sciences student and Marauders football player Devin Keeling, won this year’s Hambletonian Stakes at New Jersey’s Meadowlands Racetrack.

The race, which carries a prize of $1M, is the first event in the “Triple Crown of Harness Racing for trotters”.

Marion Marauder won the race by a nose after a photo finish.
