With the win, Laurier now hosts the Western Mustangs in next week's Yates Cup, as the 'Stangs defeated Ottawa 18-10 in Saturday's other OUA semi-final.

Laurier running back Nick Cameron and the Golden Hawk offensive line were the story of the day, as they manhandled the Mac defence, rushing 42 times for 294 yards. Cameron himself finished with 34 attempts for 262 yards and a score.

After a first half that saw them run on first down almost exclusively, Laurier opened up the passing attack with play action in the second half.

Ryan Pyear completed touchdown passes for Andy Baechler and Joel Wright early in the third quarter, and closed out the quarter with an acrobatic six-yard touchdown run. Pyear finished the day completing 18 of 27 passes for 233 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, and also scored the aforementioned touchdown run. Baechler led the Laurier receiving corps with seven catches for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Bobby Kootstra had two interceptions for the Hawks, Yannick Carter had two sacks, and all-Canadian half back Ian Logan led the team with seven tackles.

Kicker Brian Devlin had an outstanding day for Laurier, converting all five of his field goal attempts.
