The McMaster community is invited to a free event that chronicles the city's history and growth and launches an exciting campaign to celebrate civic pride. The Hamilton Revolution: Transforming our City event takes place on May 3 at Hamilton Place. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the event starts at 6:30 p.m.

The evening features the story of the city's growth told through art, music, drama, dance and Hamilton's youth. Alex Steffen, executive director of WorldChanging, a nonprofit media organization headquartered in Seattle, Washington is the key note speaker. WorldChanging comprises a global network of independent journalists, designers and thinkers. Through its website the organization presents innovative solutions to the planet's problems, and inspires readers around the world with stories of new tools, models and ideas for building a bright green future.

Steffen will speak about how cities grow, how we choose to get around and how do we incorporate nature into our lives.
The event is free and everyone is invited. Tickets can be reserved at www.jpchamilton.ca or by calling 905-523-4444.

This event is the launch of the 15-week Hamilton Proud campaign, an initiative of Jobs Prosperity Collaborative Hamilton. The campaign is meant to demonstrate how and why Hamiltonians are proud of their city.
