Hamilton Gallery of Distinction inductees

Two McMaster University professors, an alumna of the School of Nursing and a friend of the University have been honoured for their outstanding contributions to the Hamilton community.

Luke Chan, Basanti Majumdar and Carolyn Milne joined three other distinguished Hamiltonians as the 2009 inductees into the Hamilton Gallery of Distinction.

Majumdar, a professor in the School of Nursing and Department of Family Medicine, and Milne, an alumna and advisor to the School of Nursing, were recognized for their leadership and contributions to health, education and community development.

Luke Chan, a professor of finance and business economics in the DeGroote School of Business, was honoured for bringing international recognition to Hamilton and McMaster University through his pioneering work in management education and management training in China.

Milli Gould, one of McMaster's generous donors was also inducted. Gould donated to the DeGroote School of Business to fund the Allen H. Gould Trading Floor.

The Hamilton Gallery of Distinction was founded in 1984 to permanently recognize outstanding Hamilton citizens who have made significant contributions towards the betterment of the community.

Inductees were recognized at an awards dinner on Nov. 4, 2009.
