Growing number of employees paid through MacVIP

A major milestone has been reached today as 3,000 employees, formerly known as Roll 1, received their first pay deposit processed through MacVIP. This doubled the number of pay deposits made by MacVIP two weeks ago.
The employees paid today include members of the management group, librarians, CAW staff, senior administrative officers and several of McMaster's affiliate organizations. The next two Fridays, April 4 and April 11, are the first MacVIP pay dates for faculty and post-doctoral fellows, respectively. These two additional groups will increase the MacVIP pay roster by another 1,700 records.
On April 11, all McMaster employees will now be paid through the new HR/payroll system. The MacVIP system now contains the records of more than 15,000 active employees, which include every type of employment relationship that exists at McMaster.
This conversion required the dedication and commitment of every department in the university. Every employee being converted needed to be verified by each department, new forms and processes were introduced for department administrators and dozens of training sessions were held.
Today's pay deposit involved the efforts of the project team, payroll and Human Resources Services, UTS, Media Production Services and mail services for both the University and Health Sciences. These departments pulled out all the stops to ensure that employees were paid correctly and that the new pay advice statements were printed, sorted and distributed.
“I am tremendously proud of the quality of teamwork that made this first pay successful,” said Nancy Gray, director of finance. “Everyone involved in today's success is to be congratulated.”
