GO Transit increases student discount
Full-time McMaster students using a PRESTO card will get a 40 per cent discount on GO and UP.
Starting March 14, full-time McMaster students using a PRESTO card will be eligible for a 40 per cent discount on the full adult fare on GO Transit and UP Express.
As well, local transit fares will be free for riders connecting to and from GO Transit in municipalities.
GO Transit operator Metrolinx announced the increased discount — up from 22.5 per cent — and free connections this week.
The regional transit connection will be free for GO travellers connecting with Durham Region Transit, Milton Transit, Grand River Transit, Guelph Transit, Oakville Transit, MiWay, Brampton Transit, HSR, Burlington Transit, Bradford West Gwillimbury Transit and York Region Transit.
At the moment, HSR users connecting with GO Transit receive a 75 per cent discount on their HSR fare.
