closer after the University and search engine company finalized details of a service
agreement.

With the contract finalized the new email service, which will feature expanded storage
and new calendar and document features, is scheduled to launch in February.

Students voted to choose the Google email system in an online poll organized by the
McMaster Students Union. After that vote, the University began negotiations with Google
to ensure the new system would comply with Ontario's privacy laws.

Google Apps for Education at McMaster will include features like 25 GB of email storage,
Google Calendar and Google Docs. The migration from the existing email system (MUSS)
to Google is planned during reading week of 2012.
