Girl Guides engineer badges at McMaster

More than 130 Girl Guides and leaders from nine area packs will participate in a specially designed Venture Engineering and Science Camp on Saturday, March 24.

What: Girl Guide Day at McMaster Venture Engineering and Science Camp

Who: Packs 16th, 35th and 40th Burlington; 4th and 10th Dundas; 24th Hamilton; 3rd Mount Albion; 1st Rockton; 1st Woodburn

When: Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Where: John Hodgins Engineering Building

Participants will undertake one of two activities: building an interactive mouse trap car or a scientific DNA extraction project. The day will also include discussions about engineering and science and how they relate to everyday life, and a visit to the Planetarium.

McMaster University's Venture Engineering and Science Program is a non-profit, student-run summer program for children. This is the fourth year a special event has been organized to assist local Girl Guides in obtaining their science and engineering badges.
