Forward with Integrity task forces

As the discussion and implementation of the principles and priorities outlined in the President's letter Forward with Integrity proceed around the campus, a number of
interdisciplinary task forces comprised of faculty, staff and students have begun meeting to consider ways to advance the University's priorities related to research, student experience, community engagement and internationalization.

In addition to exploring the opportunities and challenges associated with these priority areas, members of the task forces will serve as liaisons to the larger university community,
seeking input and sharing ideas as they emerge.

“Since the release of the letter, many areas around campus have contributed ideas and suggestions on how to advance our University in the priority areas,” says President Patrick Deane. “I have been very impressed with this high degree of engagement, and
encourage everyone to join with the task forces to continue this momentum while sparking new ideas to aid our progress.”

The task forces will work together for the balance of this academic term. Susan Denburg, the President's strategic advisor on Forward with Integrity, notes that it is essential for discussions to continue within and across faculties in order to advance the
priorities.

Task force members, selected for their experience and expertise following broad consultation, are extremely enthusiastic about having the opportunity to move these priorities forward and welcome ongoing dialogue with their colleagues across the
University community.

“It is important that the McMaster community continues to feel engaged with respect to the challenges posed by the President's letter. Generating conversation and exploring novel approaches over the next few months is critical to the success of the initiative and
there's a role for everyone to play.”

The task forces will continue to seek input from the broader community in the coming months. A dedicated Forward with Integrity e-mail address has been established to
facilitate the sharing of ideas and response to inquiries. The email address is fwi@mcmaster.ca.
