TSN reported on its website last night that Lumsden signed a two-year contract with Washington.
Lumsden, the former McMaster Marauders star who captured the Hec Crighton Trophy as Canada's top university football player in 2004, signed as a free agent with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks in April. He was released during training camp.
He returned to the Ticats, who selected Lumsden in the first round of the CFL Canadian college draft, midway through the season and ran for 307 yards while adding 11 catches for 153 yards.
Lumsden, a native of Burlington, Ont., is under contract with Hamilton, but is in the option year of his CFL deal and therefore able to sign with an NFL team.
