Explore ways to support your mental health at Thrive Week 2022

Thrive Week is a chance to come together as a community to learn about, talk about, and explore ways to support our mental health. It’s especially important as we approach the two-year mark of the global pandemic.

Thrive week has been celebrated at McMaster since 2018 and is a collaborative effort hosted by Human Resources Services, the Student Wellness Centre and McMaster Okanagan, with help from the McMaster Students Union and other colleagues.

The ultimate goal of Thrive Week is to help one another find our own pathway to optimal mental health.

So, how can you find your route to well-being? Check out and participate in the list of initiatives and events designed to help us understand mental health issues, improve coping skills and resilience and to ultimately help us thrive!

There are virtual and in-person events running throughout the week. Here are a few of them:

  • We’ve all spent a lot of time indoors in recent months. So why not make sure your space is your sanctuary? Transforming Your Space with Sylvia Bosanac ’79 is a workshop designed to give you the tools of interior decorating. Bosonac is a 30+ year veteran of the interior design and kitchen and bath design industry who can help you refresh and redesign your home or study space. Register here.

Need help getting started with that intimidating research paper? Navigating your health care options? Have questions about your gender identity? Check out the full list of events running throughout Thrive Week for support and to connect with other members of the McMaster community navigating these challenges.

Join in on the discussion online using the hashtag #MacThrive.

Thrive Week is a reminder that conversations around mental health need to continue year-round.

Resources, programs, research and educational opportunities in health and well-being for McMaster community members are always available through the McMaster Okanagan Committee, Student Wellness Centre and Human Resources Services.
