McMaster’s finance team is receiving national recognition after earning a prestigious award from the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO).

The team earned a Quality and Productivity award for work it has done to transform the University’s accounts payable system.

The project involved innovative changes to the University’s procurement system that helped reduce costs, improve payment security and accuracy, while quickening McMaster’s payment to suppliers.

“The entire team deserves this national recognition,” says Roger Couldrey, Vice-President Administration. “While much of this important work is ‘behind the scenes’ it is critical to our ability to support the academic mission of the University.”

Since launching the project, McMaster has seen a number of benefits including increased rebates from its credit card provider and more regularly scheduled financial transactions.

The team consists of:

Karen Campbell

Angelo DiLettera

Sue Graci

Roxanne Headrick

Deidre Henne

Laurie Hickey

Becky Lavigne

Austin Noronha

Sarah Nunes

Sharon Patry

Lina Persadie

Terri Wetton

The award was presented to the team at CAUBO’s annual conference this month in Quebec City.
