There are few in Paris who consider fast food packaging haute couture, and most models in London would rather be featured on the glossy pages of fashion magazines than wear them, but the organizers of the Revolution Wear Fashion Show couldn't care less.

From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. today, RevWear models will be showcasing the latest in alternative fashion when they travel an invisible catwalk across campus wearing clothes made from reused and recycled materials, such as food packaging, as part of their first ever eco-fashion crawl.

"Revolution Wear is an idea, a lifestyle, a movement," says Nezy Lacdao, this year's RevWear coordinator. "It creates beauty from the abject."

RevWear, affiliated with the McMaster Students Union's MACgreen, has been promoting its brand of environmentally-friendly, socially-concious fashion since 2004, when Sapphire Singh began making clothing with a friend while studying at McMaster.

The fashion crawl, a prelude to the seventh annual RevWear Fashion Show scheduled for March 6 at Jackson Square mall, will see models rotating between fashion installations located in the Student Centre and Arts Quad buildings.

"It increases our visibility on campus and allows us to better communicate what RevWear is all about," said Lacado.

Students are invited to visit each station and interact with designers and models to learn about RevWear's principles and philosophy: creating change through the reuse of commercial goods.

Models will rotate through seven installations at 15 minute intervals. More information is available on Facebook.
