More than 1000 students will be awarded their degrees from McMaster University today <br />
as <br />
part of fall convocation. <br />
<br />
In the morning, students in the faculties of business, humanities, social sciences and <br />
the Arts & Science program will be conferred degrees, while students in engineering, <br />
science and health sciences will be given theirs in the afternoon.<br />
<br />
The two ceremonies, taking place at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton <br />
Place&#039;s Great Hall, will include the awarding of honorary degrees to opera soprano <br />
Adrianne Pieczonka and former governor of the Bank of Canada David Dodge. They will <br />
also be the first ceremonies to be webcast live on the internet. The live feed is available <br />
<a <br />
href="http://registrar.mcmaster.ca/convocation">here</a>, as will be archived <br />
footage (within a week). <br />
<br />
The morning ceremony will also see Patrick Deane officially installed as President and <br />
Vice-Chancellor of the University.<br />
