McMaster has taken another major step towards the University’s Vision 2020 technology plan and Systems Renewal with the signing of a contract with a supplier for a new ERP. After an extensive selection process, Oracle Canada has been chosen for its PeopleSoft ERP solution for Higher Education.

“This is a major milestone for the project,” said Systems Renewal Steering Committee Chair, Fred Hall. “It’s the culmination of the work and input of hundreds of people including the vendor demonstrations held in December 2011 and January 2012 and the feedback from those participating on the Advisory teams for student, finance, research, human resources and technology.”

Oracle’s PeopleSoft solution is an essential element to improving communication and information flows between University departments and will provide increased productivity through streamlining transactions and operations and making workflows more efficient.

The next step in the process begins immediately with the issuance of an RFP for a systems integrator to assist the University with its implementation of the PeopleSoft ERP solution. It is expected that the systems integrator will be selected by the fall, followed by the official kick-off to the multi-year ERP implementation project.
