The <a href="http://studentsuccess.mcmaster.ca/careers/career-<br />
exploration/events/hec.html<br />
">Hamilton Employment Crawl</a>, organized by McMaster&#039;s Student Success Centre, <br />
will shuttle participants to a number of potential employers in downtown Hamilton on <br />
April 25 and 26. <br />
<br />
Organizations will make short presentations about their work, discuss potential growth <br />
within their industry and give tours of their facilities. <br />
<br />
"The crawl is meant to showcase the city as a great place to live, work and play," said <br />
Gisela Oliveira, employment services co-coordinator with the Success Centre. "We want <br />
to help educate students so that they&#039;ll consider staying in the city."<br />
<br />
The crawls are divided by sector: tours on April 25 will include companies in the <br />
manufacturing/technology sector and the health care and social services sector, while <br />
tours on April 26 include those in creative industries and communications and <br />
government and finance.<br />
<br />
Participants will also be given a guided tour of Hamilton and time to explore one of the <br />
city&#039;s up-and-coming neighbourhoods, including James Street North, Locke Street and <br />
Pier 4.<br />

The crawl will conclude with a networking reception and keynote address from Hamilton <br />
Mayor Bob Bratina.<br />
<br />
The Student Success Centre is also holding a <a <br />
href="http://studentsuccess.mcmaster.ca/images/pdf/career-<br />
exploration/events/hec_video_contest.pdf<br />
">video contest</a> as part of the Hamilton Employment Crawl. Contestants are asked <br />
to create a video demonstrating why Hamilton is a great city in which to live. <br />
