Of course mom and dad think Sarah is cut out to be the next CEO of General Motors. Will they be right? Will Sarah live out her potential? Will she be the next Trump?

Unfortunately, natural ability will only take you so far. A business education is necessary to thrive in the world of commerce. After all, Trump himself frequently touts his education at the Wharton School as a secret to his success.

High school students will get a crash course in business smarts this summer at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. A pilot program is being held from August 21, 2006 to August 23, 2006. The formal summer program is set for launch in the summer of 2007. The three day pilot immerses students in the business world, through hands-on exercises in marketing communications, a live stock market challenge at the unique Gould Trading Floor and coming face to face with the personal business story of the very successful Strub Pickles.

“For students who wish to experience university, while still in high school, this is a great opportunity,” says Mandeep Malik, lecturer at the DeGroote School of Business. “We are creating a program that is a 'live experience' in every sense, with a planned visit to the TSX and a compelling challenge provided and judged by Y108 radio station.”

It is not the same as camping up north, but these campers will encounter wildlife, at least of the bears and the bulls variety. So join in, get creative with your marketing, test your prowess with numbers, and walk away with a memorable experience and crucial business skills.

The Synergy Summer of Business is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 at a price of $90. Registration is limited to the first 20 participants.
