In the Major Field Test (MFT) conducted in April 2006, DeGroote's commerce students scored an average of 167.5 out of a possible 200 points placing them in the 95th percentile in North America for the sixth consecutive time. The MBAs scored an average of 262.1 out of a possible 300 points placing them in the 90th percentile for the second consecutive time.
“Our undergraduate and MBA students continue to perform extremely well in these exit exams,” announced Dean Paul Bates. “These results are especially encouraging given that we have recently received accreditation from AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The accreditation and the results from this Major Field Test are a testament to the quality of teaching and current curricula offered at DeGroote.”
The MFT was conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) – the largest educational assessment organization in the world. The MFT program is an innovative battery of tests that is used by schools and departments at more than 700 colleges and universities globally to measure student academic achievement and growth. DeGroote has participated in the MFT since December 2003.
“Both our Commerce and MBA programs continue to perform consistently. These assessment results show that our graduates have achieved specified learning goals that place them among the best in North America,” said exam coordinator Nick Bontis. “Commerce students Jasmin Dorsett, Scott Ollivierre, and Dom Spagnuolo scored 196, 196 and 195 out of 200 respectively while MBA students Zhihan Su, Ryan Shea and Marissa Hishon scored 285, 283 and 282 out of 300, placing all six of them among the highest scoring students in North America.”
