Defence Minister Anita Anand to speak at Women’s Day event 

Defence Minister Anita Anand will join acting AVP Equity and Inclusion Sonia Anand for the fireside chat organized by the Academic Women’s Success and Mentorship committee.


Defence Minister Anita Anand will be at McMaster this week for a fireside chat that is part of International Women’s Day celebrations organized by the Academic Women’s Success and Mentorship committee of McMaster.

The event host is someone familiar to both the minister and the university community: Health researcher and McMaster’s acting Associate Vice-President of Equity and Inclusion, Sonia Anand — her sister.

Topics for discussion will include the minister’s experiences as a woman in leadership and public service, and the role their Anands’ family story has played in their lives and careers.

There will also be time for questions from the audience.

Registration is required for the free event, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday March 14 morning in the Concert Hall in L.R. Wilson Hall.
