COVID-19 awareness training, federal COVID Alert app, parking on campus

Mandatory COVID-19 awareness training

COVID-19 Awareness training is now available. The training is focused on the nature of the virus and will help the McMaster community understand how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and take action to minimize risk.

This training is mandatory for all employees currently working on campus and for those who will be returning to campus for work purposes.

Employees can register for the training in the Regulatory Training section of Mosaic and will be directed to complete the training in Avenue to Learn. There is a one-day lag, so anyone returning to campus should complete the training in advance. A record of completion will be available in Mosaic one business day after training has been completed.

Supervisors are asked to ensure that employees who have been granted access to work on campus or those already working on campus complete this training as soon as possible.

For assistance registering for training and reviewing your training record, refer to Health & Safety Training FAQs.

All questions or concerns regarding the COVID-19 Awareness training should be directed to eohss@mcmaster.ca.

COVID Alert app

Another tool to assist with COVID-19 awareness is the federal government’s new COVID Alert app. The free app alerts users if they may have been exposed to COVID-19, delivers advice on what to do next and tells nearby app users if you test positive. The app does not store any personal data and will not alert users about any outbreaks in their city or neighbourhood.

Parking on campus

Monthly parking on campus will continue to be at no cost to faculty, staff, and registered students until Dec.31, 2020. A valid parking permit and transponder will still be required to use the parking facilities.

It is anticipated at this time that monthly parking fees will be reinstated on Jan. 1, 2021.

Staff, faculty or registered students who need to access campus but do not have a parking transponder should contact Parking Services at parking@mcmaster.ca
