Continuing Education hosts sold-out national conference

McMaster University Continuing Education is hosting a sold-out national conference of the Canadian Association of University Continuing Education (CAUCE) in downtown Hamilton from May 27, 2019 through May 31, 2019.

More than 230 leaders in the rapidly growing field of continuing education will be attending, including delegates from the United Kingdom and the United States. Participants include deans and directors, educators and administrative staff, online designers and curriculum experts, and educational technologists who make learning accessible and flexible.

The theme of the conference is “Forging Ahead for a Brighter Future.” Conference attendees will learn that they can and do make an important difference in the lives of Canadians and others as they explore the latest strategies and technologies that support adult learning and job retraining, as well as those that assist corporations in ongoing learning.

Lorraine Carter, director of the McMaster Centre for Continuing Education, explains, “Approximately 80 per cent of our enrolments are in online courses. Being able to offer flexible and innovative learning opportunities has extended McMaster’s reach across Hamilton to all points in Canada and around the world. McMaster Continuing Education also ensures that its work in the corporate sector is carefully tailored and reflective of organizations’ needs.”

Keynote speakers are Craig Kielburger of Me to We and McMaster graduate and technology entrepreneur Melody Adham of Havas Canada.

This is the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education’s 66th annual conference.
