Computer virus hits PCs on campus

Computing & Information Services has issued the following message:

In the past few days, we have received numerous calls regarding PCs being infected with four different types of viruses.

You can protect your computer files by ensuring the signature files or definition files of your anti-virus software are up to date. This should be done monthly.

Command anti-virus software is currently site licensed by McMaster University. If you are faculty or staff member, or a graduate student, you can download Command Anti-Virus Software and definition files from the Software Depot via the Web at http://www.mcmaster.ca/cis/help/rswelcom.htm.
