Committee to Recommend a President: Letter to the Community

As required by The McMaster University Act, 1976, the Board of Governors and Senate of the University recently appointed a Committee to Recommend a President. Dr. Patrick Deane, who will be completing his first term on June 30, 2015, is eligible for reappointment.

The membership of the Committee is as follows:

Dr. Patricia McNiven, Teaching Staff Elected Member of the Board of Governors
Mr. Brad Coburn, Non-teaching Staff Elected Member of the Board of Governors
Mr. David Williamson, Board Elected Member of the Board of Governors
Dr. Rick Hackett, Professor, Faculty of Business
Dr. Jean Wilson, Director, Arts and Science Program
Dr. Gianni Parise, Associate Dean, Research and External Relations (Faculty of Science) (Committee Vice-Chair)
Mr. Teddy Saull, Undergraduate Student Representative
Ms Fran Lasowski, Graduate Student Representative

The Committee invites comments and submissions from members of the University community who wish to express their views on any aspect of the Committee’s work. The deliberations of the Committee to Recommend a President are strictly confidential. Submissions will be kept in the strictest confidence and will be destroyed at the conclusion of the Committee’s work. Submissions and correspondence can be sent to:
