Copyright law in Canada is undergoing some significant changes and the impact will be
felt across the University.

Changes to copyright and the Access Copyright agreement will affect coursepack
production, library reserves and material availability through Avenue to Learn, among
other things.

“It's incredibly important that the campus community – faculty, staff and students –
fully understand the changes,” said Anne Pottier, associate university librarian. “These
changes will be felt at places like Titles, the Library, the Centre for Leadership in
Learning, and Media Production Services as well as by faculty members.”

As part of the education effort around the changes, a href=”http://www.copyright.mcmaster.ca”>copyright information website
has been launched, which includes a video recording of an initial information session
held April 5. The site contains information on fair dealing, copyright policy and
copyright at McMaster.

The site will be updated regularly so that accurate and current information is available
to the entire McMaster community. You can subscribe to the site's href=”http://www.copyright.mcmaster.ca/feed.xml”>RSS feed here.
