Celebrity Concert Series presents Valerie Tryon

Photo courtesy of SOTA.”]Concert pianist Valerie Tryon will take the stage as part of tonight's Celebrity Concert Series presented by the School of the Arts.

Winner of the Franz Liszt Memorial Plaque and numerous other prizes, Tryon is best-known for her interpretations of romantic piano literature. She has appeared with many of the world's most famous performers, conductors and symphony orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony.

Tryon boasts an impressive discography, and is heard regularly on the CBC. She is also a Juno-award winning musician. Tryon's artistry has been received with critical acclaim worldwide.

For her concert at McMaster, she will be performing pieces by Haydn, Grieg, John Ireland, Brahms, Schulz-Evler and the ever popular Liszt.

The concert will take place on Friday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. in Convocation Hall (second floor, University Hall). Tickets are $17 for general admission, $12 for seniors and $5 for students. For more information, please call 905-525-9140, ext. 24246.
