“It is a good opportunity for prospective and existing students to gain information regarding our business programs and to talk to professionals in various fields,” says Cathy Emick, program manager for the human resources management, management studies and web design programs.

Stations will be available where students can talk to program managers from the public relations, marketing, human resources management, accounting, management studies, and web design and development programs.

Students will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from:

  • Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPAO)
  • Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario (CGA)
  • Certified Management Accountants (CMA)
  • Canadian Institute of Management (CIM)
  • Insurance Institute Canada
  • International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)
  • Canadian Institute of Marketing
  • Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS)
  • NEXIENT
  • ArcelorMittal

  • “I loved meeting everyone, putting faces to names was important to me, and I enjoyed speaking to people from the Human Resources Professional Association,” said Liane Bazso, attendee at last year's information session.

CCE staff and representatives from the McMaster Association of Part-time Students (MAPS) will be available to assist students with registration and answer questions regarding part-time student bursaries.

“If you want to excel in your current role or be ready to progress in your career, it is imperative that you continually engage in learning opportunities to develop your portfolio of skills,” said Lisa Boniface, assistant director of CCE. “We are fortunate that McMaster University strongly supports professional development for staff through its tuition assistance program.” Most employees can access these funds to pay for courses offered through CCE.

The goal of this event is to provide students with as much information as possible, so they can choose courses or a program that will provide them with the skills and the knowledge they need to grow in their current role, or to embark on a new career.
