Career fair pairs students with employers

File photo.”]Students looking for jobs and employers looking to hire them are invited to attend Career Fair 2008, McMaster's largest recruitment event, in the David Braley Athletic Centre on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 100 companies ranging from Abercrombie and Fitch to Xerox will be available to answer questions and network with job hunters.

“The fair provides students with the opportunity to meet employers looking to recruit innovative, young talent,” said Jacquie Hampshire, events and marketing coordinator at Career Services. “It's an excellent opportunity to build contacts with recruiters and explore careers.”

Career Services offers the following tips on how to make the most of your career fair experience:

Make a great first impression: Introduce yourself to the employer. Smile and be friendly.

Ask questions: Have a list of questions ready to start a conversation with the employer.

Dress for success: Wear professional attire as if you were attending a job interview.
