Referring to the MIP as the “perfect location” for CANMET-MTL, Sweet, MP for Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough and Westdale, said, “It's a place that combines the best people, outstanding skills, new ideas and advanced technologies from industry, academia and the private sector to create a competitive edge for Canada.”
George encouraged everyone to see the sign for what it represents: “See it as a symbol of great things to come, a symbol that things are moving forward, a symbol of partnership and a symbol that Hamilton's economic future is rooted in research, development and innovation.”
Sweet also took the opportunity to announce the creation of a 17-member advisory board, including representatives from industry, academia and government, to provide counsel to the Minister of Natural Resources on issues related to the relocation.
