This year's conference focuses on corporate governance, e-business, and intellectual capital. Delegates will focus on identifying the most influential and constantly changing trends in business development.

Students at McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business will host the unique three-day forum taking place at the Hamilton Convention Centre. The conference showcases stimulating presentations and panel discussions with e-commerce leaders and forward-thinking analysts. Attendees also get the opportunity to meet and network with global business leaders.

This year, the congress has attracted speakers from a variety of different fields, including former finance minister John Manley, UBS's chairman Michael Wilson, AssetRisk advisory Inc's president Robert Chambers, CanWest Mediaworks president Richard Camilleri, and senior legal counsel for Manulife Financial John Dufrey. A complete list of all featured speakers can be found at http://worldcongress.mcmaster.ca/.

“The Congress plays a fairly key role in the presentation, discussion and dissemination of current thinking and analysis regarding matters that are vital to both academia and business,” says Paul Bates, dean of the DeGroote School of Business.

“Established in 1978, the McMaster World Congress was created as a collaborative framework for individuals and businesses to discuss and review current issues while staying up to date with future trends and ideas,” said Alvin K. Wong, one of three students heading up the conference.

“Students at DeGroote will emphasize to the world the importance of staying ahead in today's business marketplace through shared learning. The result will be an incredibly successful forum, and a powerful response to the ever-growing demand for innovative business knowledge,” added Wong.

Students say their $250,000 Congress will showcase the DeGroote Business School as a one of the top business schools in innovation and research and promote the school's students as emerging global business leaders.
