The 11th season of the popular MARS Apprentice program kicks off Tuesday, January 20 with opening ceremonies at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.

MARS Apprentice is a transformative learning experience centred around six case challenges in the fields of Marketing, Advertising, Retail and Sales.

Over the course of this three-month competition, six sponsoring companies present two teams of high-performing DeGroote Business students with real-world challenges. These teams are selected and trained by industry leading resources.

“MARS Apprentice is the connection between what we learn in the classroom and what is needed to survive in the marketing world,” says Harrison Nolan, a third year commerce student and one of this year’s apprentices.

The centerpiece of MARS Apprentice is the set of six case challenges that students must complete. These challenges are provided by industry sponsors, and are real problems that the company is currently facing.

Students are given one week to research the problem and develop a solution, which they then present to a panel of industry professionals.

The MARS Apprentice Opening Ceremonies will be held January 20 at 6 p.m. at the Art Gallery of HamiltonRick Neuman, vice-president of eCommerce at Walmart Canada, and an alumnus of the DeGroote School of Business and MARS Apprentice, will be giving a keynote presentation.  Tickets are available online.
