We appreciate the quick responses we've received from students indicating the housing option they wish to pursue. The overwhelming majority of students have responded but we need to hear from every resident of Brandon Hall. We appreciate your help in ensuring that your son or daughter has responded.

Students will receive their housing assignment on Friday, October 24. Detailed plans for moving into the accommodation including check in times, directions and any other special instructions will be provided on Saturday, October 25.

Since students have already formed close friendships with floor mates we are trying wherever possible to keep floors together. We are also working to accommodate those students who have identified that they have special needs.

All Brandon Hall students will be given a commuter allowance. The allowance is $200 per week. The payments will be retroactive to October 18 and will continue until the student's space in residence is ready for occupancy (excluding the time between the end of the first term examination period and the beginning of second term). The first commuting allowance will be issued the week of October 27 and more details will follow on how these payments will be issued.

About 60% of students from Brandon Hall have now picked up their one time comfort allowance of $100. Students have received instructions on pick up directly through email. Students who have not yet picked up this payment can also do so next week. This payment is to help cover incidental costs that students may have incurred over the past week.

If your son or daughter has been residing in a hotel over the past week please notify ,resadmissions@mcmaster.caso the University can make arrangements to pay the hotel directly.

We have good news about the opening of an on-campus lounge for Brandon Hall students. The lounge will open in the Refectory this coming Monday and will give students a place to gather and to meet residence friends while they're on campus.

McMaster is fortunate to have a Centre for Student Development on campus which is available to provide counseling and support to students who made need assistance. They can be found in the McMaster University Student Centre, room B107, 905-525-9140, ext. 24711 or through daily@mcmaster.ca
