Bike to Work Month kicks off May 28

May 28 kicks off Bike to Work month in Hamilton, and biking to work at McMaster has never been easier. McMaster Parking Services offers a number of options for those who are interested in riding their own bike to campus or sharing one with the community.

Sobi Hamilton

If you don’t have your own, Sobi Hamilton has five bike hubs on campus where you can pick up a bike, use it for as long as you like, and return it to any of the 130 Sobi hubs in the city of Hamilton. Use of the bikes requires a membership and online sign up in advance. You can pay for unlimited use on a monthly basis or pay for the time you need/use. Usually 80-100 bikes are available at the various hubs across campus. McMaster students are eligible for a discount. More information on pricing is available here. Ride one home or to your next meeting today!

Bike Racks

Bike racks have been installed in multiple locations across campus. They are easy to access and free to use. Check out the bike rack locations here.

Secure Bike Storage

On the west side of Chester New Hall, there is a locked, fenced in area to store bikes and features video surveillance and swipe card access. Space in this secure facility can be rented for $5 per semester. Up to 48 bikes can be stored here.

Bike Lockers

McMaster maintains 18 CycleSafe bike lockers available for rent.

Rentals are $40 per semester or $100 for 12 months. The lockers are located at multiple sites around campus (near JHE, BSB, TSH and near E.T.C.).

If you’re interested in learning more about any of these, contact McMaster Parking Services located in the E.T. Clarke Centre, or email parking@mcmaster.ca.
