It may be their anniversary, but the gifts are going to charity.

The Bachelor of Health Sciences program will continue its tenth anniversary celebrations this weekend and next with a charity fashion show and musical theatre performance.

'Atelier', the fifth annual fashion show organized and run by students from a number of faculties, will take over the Student Centre's CIBC Hall on Saturday, March 13. The runway will feature wares designed and modeled by students. The show is in support of Camp Trillium, a childhood cancer support centre which provides recreation activities for children and their families. Last year's show raised $5,000, which sent seven children and their families to camp. This year's goal is $7,500.

March 19 and 20 will see performances of the health sciences musical 'Health Sci Story', based on the 1957 classic 'West Side Story', running at the Downtown Arts Centre in Hamilton. The show will raise funds for both the bachelor of health sciences scholarship and Epilepsy Hamilton, a not-for-profit epilepsy advocacy organization.

"Running events like these are great ways for students to connect with the outside community while pursuing their own extracurricular interests," said Josie Xu, fashion show co-chair. "When students express themselves through dance, fashion and drama in our show, we are helping to give these same opportunities to children in the community."

Tenth anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the year, with events including a coffee house, karaoke pub night, golf tournament and dinner gala planned. Details can be found on the Bachelor of Health Sciences program website.
